Establishment
The Playground and Recreation Association of Queensland Inc. was established in 1913

Membership

The Association has established 9 Playground Centres in Queensland where an overall annual attendance of over 200,000 school aged children is recorded.

 

Aims and Purposes

The Association aims to provide free supervised playground and recreational activities for all school-aged children. We are located in Spring Hill, Inala, Stafford, Carina, Logan Central, Bracken Ridge, Toowoomba, Eagleby, Riverview

 

Main Activities

Each of the centres provide free activities for 6-16 year olds during out of school hours, (Including Saturdays and school holidays). The activities include games, craft, cooking, outdoor sports, board games, table tennis and pool. An age appropriate programme of activities is also offered in each centre for the older children (12-16 years) and two centres provide a service for children with disabilities in conjunction with the mainstream programme during school holidays. Traffic Training Education classes are also conducted at the Toowoomba Centre.
