was established m 1927.

The
Queensland Red Cross has 6000 members within regions, branches and
in
services state-wide.
Aims and
Purposes
The
fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red
Crescent Movement are: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality,
Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality. Australian
Red Cross Youth and Education Services offers a variety of programs
to assist Queensland schools deliver quality curriculum to students
and to develop and strengthen school - community relationships.
Main
Activities
Red
Cross Community Action is a two-part program that offers
high-quality teaching modules (covering the skills of volunteers,
volunteer rights and responsibilities and the history of volunteering
and volunteer based organisations) and a community agency placement
program so students can actively volunteer within the local
community.
Red Cross Community
Challenge is a resource that guides students through a community
needs analysis and assists them to analyse those needs, match them
with their personal and locally available resources and finally,
assists them m choosing a community service challenge that
appropriately meets an identified need.
