Establishment of Scouts
The Scout Association, established in
1907 is the largest Youth Organisation in Australia
and in the world.
Membership
Scouts Queensland has a membership of
15,000 Youth Members and 4,000 Adults and Uniformed Leaders. As
well, there are approximately 5,000 mothers, fathers, family members
and friends who provide invaluable committee support.
Aims and
Principles
The fundamental Aims and Principles of the Association
are to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and
spiritual development of all young people so that they may take a
constructive place in society as responsible citizens, and as
members of their local, national and international communities.
Main Activities
Scouts Queensland caters for both
females and males between the ages of 6 - 26 and Adult Leaders who
assist Youth Members in their commitment to a code for living,
providing a wide range of attractive, constructive and challenging
activities.
Activities full of fun, adventure and exploration, both indoor and
outdoors and providing opportunities for growth in leadership and
responsibility. Scouts Queensland has the accreditation to
train Corporate Business people as well as members of the
Association.
