In 2009,
the program includes 670 cadet members who are supported by approximately
300 adult leaders. There are 49 cadet groups throughout Queensland.
Aims and Purposes
The
Emergency Service Cadet Program is a youth development program that aims to assist
young people to develop life skills and encourages young people to particpate in their local community.
The aims
are:

Program
Overview
The Emergency Services Cadet Program
is a whole Department youth development program with a focus on developing young peoples life skills, leadership and teamwork.
The
Emergency Services Cadet Program provides training for young people, teaching them essential life skills and providing skills that relate to the State Emergency Service, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, and Queensland Ambulance Service.
The Emergency Services Cadet Program is accredited with the Australian Council for Children and Youth Organisations (ACCYO).
